Don’t get me wrong, the Earth is a beautiful place. I love the complex, life-sustaining and creating wonder that is Mother Earth. There’s so much beauty and wonder and awe that fills this amazing world we live in. The landscapes, the trees, the cool technology, massive buildings, miniature horses, the love, the magic, there is so many things that can bring joy to my heart and soul. The only problem, well maybe not the only one but let’s say the one that has the most impact I believe, is that the universe has to be in balance. It’s just part of it, yin and yang. So for all the beauty in this world, there has to be the ugly too.
The media pushes a parade of fear and hate based propaganda towards the people of this world. Sure there’s the story occasionally about the teenage kids who all shaved their heads because one of their friends got cancer so they displayed amazing camaraderie to show their friend they are not going to go through this alone. That makes in the news cycle probably once a year. However, constant updates on whatever wars are going on at the time, the epidemic of systemic racism running rampant in the country, the national debt crisis, whatever animal we are getting the flu from this year, all of these are meant to keep you in a state of fear and anxiety. They keep you uncomfortable and on edge because you are easier to control that way.
You have no idea to the extent of what the powers that be will go to push their agendas. They will let nothing stop them from achieving their goals for humanity, especially the humanity. We have been indoctrinated and programmed to their liking all our lives. They scope of control these entities have on the governments, the media, the money exceeds the ability for the average human to see. Until you take steps to break free from the probably highly manicured grip of the life-forsaking global elite, they will control you as well. Now, if you’re contemplating what kind of mental illness I have that brings up all these paranoid delusions, I should tell you first that at one point in time I fucking had all of them, buddy. And let me tell you, I don’t think I could of came up with anything nearly as fantastical as what’s actually going on around here.
I’m not here to talk about those dark occult piece of shit practitioners. If you want to know more, leave a comment in the comment section on the bottom and I’ll let you in on the insane bullshit that goes on around here. Actually, I’m going the other way with this. I’m telling you to ignore it. Don’t pretend like it doesn’t exist, because it does. I’m just saying to not devote any thought or energy towards it. By controlling where your attention and energy go, by focusing on your goals and self care, you’re able to influence your immediate world in the direction best suited for you at that time. By not allowing fear to infiltrate your mind from the daily torrid of seemingly endless dog shit media propaganda, your ability to carve out a peaceful, loving piece of your own in this world strengthens.
I don’t watch the news. I don’t have social media on my phone. I don’t get into political discussions with anyone, because honestly I don’t give a fuck about any of it. I do my best to control what I consume. Not just in a dietary way, but with what I watch, listen to, entertain myself with, I make sure to put information that has a strong focus on being healthy and beneficial for me. As someone who struggled with addiction for a long time, the amount of bullshit that I have put into my body is an indicator not only how strong and resilient the human body actually is, it’s also a constant reminder that if I since I once had no thought towards taking care of this mind, body and soul maybe now I should put as much effort into construction as opposed to destruction. What your consume will directly affect your life, sometimes instantly. Ever see someone have an allergic reaction to something they ate? What you don’t realize is what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears has the capability to cause a similar reaction.
Minimize the distractions and maximize the output. When that statement is directed specifically towards self improvement and self care, the connotation has a more profound meaning. The output is not only means to the degree of enhancement you have obtained, but also the output of your inner world affecting your outer world. Whatever you focus on with your inner self, the universe eventually reflects that back towards you in the outer world. As above, so below, As within, so without. When you’re constantly in a state of fear or anxiety, the world will give and show you things to be afraid of or cause panic. As controllers of our world, what we focus our thoughts and feelings towards is vital. I’m here to help get you in a place where peace, love, happiness, all the positive emotions flow rampant.
Our minds can take us on a negative feedback loop from hell with all the external stimuli it has to pull from. I know from experience how obsessive the mind can be, how repetitive the dialogue can get. I can tell you that it’s easy to allow your mind to direct your thoughts and try to control the narrative. If you get stuck in some sort of loop cycle playing in your brain, a simple question does wonders towards directing focus and energy back towards where you want it to be, and that question is “Does this serve me?” If the answer is no, then release it and direct your attention towards things that you actually want to give your attention to. The mind is nothing more than a tool, to be use when it’s meant to be used, but so many of us need to realize that once we’re done using the tool, we put it away. We don’t allow the tool to use us.
How External Stimuli Impact Mental Clarity
Your brain is like a sponge, constantly absorbing information from the environment—whether you’re aware of it or not. Every sound, every visual cue, and every conversation subtly influences your emotions, stress levels, and thought patterns.
1. The Media & Digital Overload
- Scrolling through negative news headlines can instantly make you feel overwhelmed and anxious.
- Social media bombards you with comparison traps, unrealistic standards, and mindless distractions.
- Constant notifications, emails, and alerts pull your focus in a thousand directions, leaving you mentally drained.
2. Toxic Environments & People
- The energy of the people around you affects your state of mind. Spending time with negative or toxic individuals can drain your energy.
- If your environment is cluttered, chaotic, or loud, it can be difficult to focus and think clearly.
- Unresolved conflict, drama, or negativity in your space adds emotional weight to your mental state.
3. Internalized Thought Loops
- When exposed to negative stimuli, your brain tends to latch onto it and repeat the thought cycle.
- This can lead to rumination, overthinking, and emotional exhaustion—which keeps you stuck in a mental fog.
The solution? Training your mind to redirect attention away from negativity and towards clarity, peace, and empowerment.
The Importance of Redirecting Attention Away from Negativity
You are not your thoughts.
You are not your emotions.
You are simply the observer of them.
When you realize this, you gain the ability to detach from negative stimuli instead of being controlled by it. Redirecting attention is about taking back your power—it’s about choosing what deserves your focus, rather than letting external chaos dictate your internal peace.
Some key benefits of attention redirection include:
✅ Increased Mental Clarity – Less noise, more focus.
✅ Better Emotional Regulation – Less reactive, more grounded.
✅ Reduced Anxiety & Overthinking – Less mental chatter, more presence.
✅ Improved Productivity – Less distraction, more action.
Now, let’s dive into how to actually shift your attention away from negative external stimuli and back toward mental clarity and presence.
Mindfulness Techniques to Redirect Attention
1. The 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Exercise (For when you feel overwhelmed by external noise)
This mindfulness exercise helps pull you out of your head and into the present moment by shifting focus to your physical senses.
🔹 5 Things You See – Look around and name five objects in your surroundings.
🔹 4 Things You Feel – Notice four physical sensations (your breath, the chair you’re sitting on, the air on your skin).
🔹 3 Things You Hear – Tune into three different sounds (birds outside, a car passing, your own breath).
🔹 2 Things You Smell – Identify two scents (coffee, fresh air, a candle).
🔹 1 Thing You Taste – Focus on one taste (water, gum, the aftertaste of a meal).
This shifts your attention from negative thoughts to what’s actually happening in the present moment, grounding you in reality rather than mental noise.
2. Thought Stopping & Shifting (For when your thoughts spiral into negativity)
Ever notice how one bad thought turns into ten more, and suddenly you’re stuck in a loop? This technique helps you interrupt negative thought spirals and consciously shift your focus.
🔹 Step 1: Catch the Negative Thought
- Notice when your mind starts focusing on something stressful, self-critical, or fear-based.
🔹 Step 2: Interrupt It
- Say “STOP” out loud (or visualize a stop sign).
- Take a deep breath.
🔹 Step 3: Redirect to a Positive Thought
- Replace it with something constructive, like:
- “I am safe in this moment.”
- “This thought does not define me.”
- “I choose to focus on what I can control.”
This breaks the pattern of letting negative thoughts snowball, giving you a moment to consciously choose a new direction.
3. Object Focus Exercise (For instant attention redirection in moments of stress)
This simple technique recalibrates your focus by directing attention to a single object in your environment.
🔹 Step 1: Pick any object near you (a pen, a plant, a book).
🔹 Step 2: Study it deeply for 60 seconds. Notice every detail—the color, shape, texture.
🔹 Step 3: Stay completely present with the object, as if you’re seeing it for the first time.
This breaks the mental loop by forcing your brain to redirect its focus to something neutral and grounding.
4. Awareness Prompts for Daily Mental Clarity
Whenever you feel mentally clouded, distracted, or overwhelmed, use these prompts to snap back to clarity:
🧠 What is taking up most of my mental energy right now? Is it worth my attention?
🌱 What can I shift my focus to that will bring me peace instead of stress?
🌿 Is this thought leading me somewhere useful, or am I feeding a mental loop?
🔥 What is one thing in this moment that I am grateful for?
💡 What is the next best thing I can focus on to move forward?
Bringing awareness to what’s occupying your mind allows you to take control of it, rather than being controlled by it.
