Fasting: The Road to Cell Destruction and Spiritual Connection

7–11 minutes

Holistic Health, Nutrition.

I’m currently on day 3 of a water fast. No food, no sugar, no sweeteners, and no calories. I’ve had a cup of coffee or tea in the morning to give me that caffeine fix we all crave. I also have a glass or two of watered-down pickle juice during the day to help me with my electrolytes or put some salt in a glass of water. One thing that can be an issue with water fasting is dehydration because you don’t really get hydrated from just water. Studies have shown that adding anything to water, whether it be salt, sugar, lemon juice, tea, or coffee, actually creates better levels of hydration in the body than just drinking water alone. You’re actually supposed to get your water from fruits and vegetables; that’s how we are designed. I’m going to expound a little more on this and hope you’re able to follow me, even though some of what I say may seem far-fetched, just bear with me and I’ll explain it to the best of my ability.

In my previous blogs, I try to get you to understand the importance of looking at yourself like an electromagnetic meat-suit. That’s what the body is, nothing more, nothing less. If you can begin to wrap your mind around that, you’ll be far better off than most people who receive this information. We function with electromagnetic signals all throughout the body and brain. Those signals are sent and interpreted by cells on the currency of the water in your system. We’re 70ish% water, give or take. So there’s a lot of volume for the electricity to flow through. Now, you should have learned this in school: electricity flows more readily and optimally in saltwater as opposed to freshwater. Therefore, it stands to reason that by incorporating electrolytes in your system such as sodium and potassium, you will operate more efficiently than without.

A human being produces 100W an hour of electricity at rest. When doing any strenuous activity such as working out, it can reach up to 300-400W and there are some cases of sprinters getting up to 2000W output in an hour. So we are electric beings. Everything is electricity and everything is light. Well, everything is light, which is a form of electricity, is a better way to put that. There is an electromagnetic field around the earth, which is the same electromagnetic field that is around you. The frequency may be different, but the focus is the same. You can create a stronger electromagnetic field by changing a few things, and we’ll get into that here later on.

So, back to the water fast that I’m on. I’ve tried it a few times, and until today I never made it past day three because I would get dizzy, feel sluggish, have some orthostatic hypotension and for those of you that don’t know, that’s just a fancy way of saying I would get dizzy or light-headed going from a sitting to standing position. I can say that now that I’ve got past that hump I feel pretty good comparatively. I haven’t eaten anything in 3 days and my energy feels like it’s improving. It’s more a battle with your mind than it is with food. You don’t need to eat every day. At the beginning of humankind, when we first appeared on this planet, we were hunter/gatherers and didn’t get a chance to eat every day. We only ate when we were able to find or kill something edible. So we genetically evolved to be able to survive without eating. Why do you think we “store” fat? It’s so when there’s nothing to eat, our body eats that for fuel. Fat is just the body’s preparation for the worst-case scenario of us not eating.

After 17 hours to 3 days of no calories, no substance in the stomach to fuel our bodies, we start to go into ketosis and autophagy. Now these are two separate things but are introduced into the body by similar means. Let’s start with ketosis. Ketosis is a metabolic state in which your blood has a high concentration of ketones, namely beta-Hydroxybutyrate. It occurs when your body starts using fat as its main fuel source due to limited access to glucose, or blood sugar, typically caused by starvation, fasting, or following a very low-carb diet. Many cells in the body prefer using glucose for fuel. When your body doesn’t have enough glucose to power these cells, levels of the hormone insulin decrease, causing fatty acids to be released from body fat stores in large amounts. Many of these fatty acids are transported to the liver, where they’re oxidized and turned into ketones, also called ketone bodies. These are then used as an alternative energy source throughout the body. Unlike fatty acids, ketones can cross the blood-brain barrier and provide energy for your brain in the absence of glucose.

Now, as for autophagy, Autophagy is the body’s natural process of cleaning out damaged cells. It involves the degradation of unnecessary or dysfunctional components within the cell through a lysosome-dependent regulated mechanism. This process allows the body to regenerate newer, healthier cells by recycling parts of the damaged ones. It happens after 24-48 hours of fasting. The longer you go, the more damaged cells get removed. After 7 days of fasting with nothing but water and electrolytes, you remove all the cells in your body that are no longer serving you. So you pretty much kill off your old self to make the new self become more optimized for what it is meant to be. So to be operating efficiently, you want to remove the damaged cells in your body that no longer are doing what they need to be doing. But that’s completely up to you, and nothing I tell you is meant to be taken as medical advice. You should consult your doctor before changing your diet if you have any underlying health conditions. I’m just giving you a perspective to go off of.

I’ve told you a little about the health benefits of fasting, but what about the spiritual aspect of it as well? Most religions in the world have their events that have fasting associated with them. Lent in the Catholic religion has people fast from something in their life, whether it be food, TV, coffee, alcohol, there’s something people are cutting out their intake towards. Ramadan has Muslims giving up food and water during daylight hours. The bible gives multiple instances of people fasting to help them achieve some event or spiritual connection with the Christian god. So there’s a multitude of religious literature that has fasting incorporated into it. There’s a reason behind that. It’s because it connects you to the higher power of the universe and opens your heart and mind spiritually.

I have had a serious spiritual awakening lately, and almost instinctually have been doing things that we are meant to do as human beings. I’m not going to get into all of that here, most of that will be put into another blog. We are spiritual beings, not religious beings. Religion is to have you look outside of yourself for god; spirituality is being connected with the universe and finding out you are god, a version of one anyways. We have god-like powers, it’s just most of us don’t know how to use them. It has been hidden from us by the powers that be to enslave us. They have us focus on the material world instead of the spiritual world. Until you can become more in touch with your higher power and connect with the universe, you will be a slave to the system. Until you can control your mind and decide that you are the one that dictates, you will be a slave to your mind. Being able to control what you eat, stopping those urges, realizing that the thought in your head to eat is just a thought, once you’re able to start doing these things, you will become free from your mind, at least start to. And I’m just giving this a shot to see what actually happens. People can tell you things all day, but unless they’ve lived it, it’s just secondhand information. Actually, thirdhand, they learned it from someone and are trying to pass on something they probably don’t really have any idea about. You learn by doing, so try out different things, see what works for you, and begin to optimize your system.

Tips for Fasting Success

Stay Hydrated:
Drink plenty of water, but also consider adding a pinch of salt or a splash of lemon juice to maintain electrolyte balance. Dehydration is a common issue during fasting, and maintaining hydration is crucial.Listen to Your Body:
Pay attention to how your body feels during the fast. If you experience severe dizziness, weakness, or any other concerning symptoms, it’s important to break the fast and seek medical advice.Gradual Transition:
Ease into fasting gradually. Start with intermittent fasting or shorter fasting periods before attempting prolonged fasts. This helps your body adapt to the new regimen.Electrolyte Balance:
Maintain electrolyte levels by consuming drinks like pickle juice or adding electrolyte supplements to your water. This helps prevent imbalances that can cause fatigue and muscle cramps.Mental Preparation:
Fasting is as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. Prepare mentally by setting clear intentions and reminding yourself of the benefits and goals of your fast.Rest and Relaxation:
Allow your body to rest. Avoid strenuous physical activities and focus on relaxation techniques such as meditation and deep breathing to support the fasting process.Break the Fast Wisely:
When ending your fast, do so gradually with light, nutrient-dense foods. Avoid heavy or processed foods to prevent digestive discomfort. Use something like Biotrustproducts to help you break your fast.
